Rene Campos, a registrant, has withdrawn from the Fresno City Council election. The reason for his withdrawal is an inability to obtain 20 signatures from voters.
“The fact that Mr. Campos was unable to obtain the necessary signatures to run for Fresno City Council is due in large part to a coordinated campaign to discredit him,” stated ACSOL Executive Director Janice Bellucci. “At least one City Council member as well as other prominent members of that community bullied Mr. Campos as well as voters who might have signed the necessary form.”
Prior to Mr. Campos’ withdrawal from the Fresno City Council, City Council member Annalisa Perea as well as Assembly member Esmeralda Soria, threatened to introduce legislation that would have blocked Mr. Campos from being elected to that city council. Neither elected official has yet acted upon their threats.
“We do not know at this time whether the Fresno City Council or the elected state official will implement in the future their legislative plans to block all registrants from being elected,” stated Bellucci. “ACSOL will monitor and report the future actions, if any, of both elected officials that harm registrants or their families.”

Damn. Does FresNO know that registrants and their loved ones are taxpayers and members of their community? I’m sure they are fine with drug dealers, murderers, robbers, domestic and animal abusers make great candidates, but sex is off limits. Too bad their fathers didn’t wear condoms because we’d have less morons in government.
Annalisa Perea and Esmeralda Soria are scumbags. If I were Campos, I’d dedicate a significant amount of my time to causing them problems for a very long time. For years and years, I think. All legally, of course.
F*ck these anti-American a**holes. Wage war on them. Don’t forget that they wage war on the families of PFRs also so not much is off limits.
He couldn’t find 20 others there who have convictions to sign so he could run? That would’ve been the easiest thing for him to do. Just look at the registry online for Fresno. Hope he reconsiders this time or maybe again in the future.
And…hope someone who has a pretty bad conviction decides to run soon so they too can stand up for those who have convictions would make good candidates.
